Unfortunately it’s not embeddable and doesn’t have any social sharing functions, but it is pretty neat none-the-less. I kind of see it as a mix between OK GO’s viral video (if it were embeddable it would probably be more viral), a fashion show and the amazon one click buy option.
Peep it here.

I am currently starting a new project and this post is serving as a brain dump at the moment. This is a first pass at trying to define what the project should encompass in words.
Let’s hope I’m not being too ambitious.
Currently code named collective consciousness, it is an api that will provide contextual emotional [...]
Rework by Jason Fried
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I remember when 37Signals came out with Getting Real and it was one of those things I meant to read but never got around to.
37Signals has now come out with their second book, Rework. I had 3 people in my social stream talk about it in [...]
Some quick notes from the Ben Fry talk at Columbia:
The difference between Infographics vs Data Visualization is the difference between using small vs large datasets.
Wonderlic Test
In most systems you will never have less data – determine better ways of hiding it by finding out what is relevant.
Remember, audience is everything.

New experiences are some of my favorite things – especially the ones that I don’t have any preconceived notions about.
Going into a dark room and standing around with a bunch of people knowing only that I would have to “look up” is quite an exciting and exhilarating thing.
For this reason, I’m not going to post [...]
There have some really interesting projects that I’ve discovered lately that revolve around using eye movements to generate design.
The Eye Writer Initiative
It is a low-cost eye-tracking apparatus & custom software that allows graffiti writers and artists with paralysis resulting from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis to draw using only their eyes.

Anatoly Zenkov created a quick java applet for windows and mac that allows the user to create art based on the stop and go motion of their mouse.
The two pieces of artwork I created using his software represent productive vs non-productive time.
The first shows a visual of what my mornings are like – mainly checking [...]
Core77 ran a one hour design challenge that I was inspired by the other week.
Unfortunately, they closed the contest due to lack of participants before I submitted the final rendering of my idea.
So as not to let my one hour go to waste I’m posting it here for my own amusement. If you find this, [...]
Bauhaus has always served as a personal inspiration and this exhibit helped to put it into perspective. While I still very much respect and admire the work, by seeing it in person I was reminded that they are just like you and me – and inspired to be able to reach the same level of design as they did. Given our current technology and manufacturing techniques it’s really amazing to see how society has and still can build upon their foundations. At least that’s what I took away from this exhibit personally at the time.
Exhibit ends this week – be sure to catch it if you can.

Aside from making me feel really old in comparison to the high school aged audience, it was an amazing show and was all that I thought it would be.
Last year, The Knife coupled with Hotel Pro Forma to produce an electro opera based on Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species entitled, Tomorrow, in a Year. The opera incorporated various visual electronic displays that provided a unique take on traditional opera asthetic. A video of the performance can be seen below and a complete [...]

HBO created an multidimensional storytelling experience to show how HBO content and perspective can bring more to the viewing experience. The marketing product explores how we take in and interpret information given different perspectives on situations. It can be considered a sort of a immersive game for voyeurists.
The campaign consisted of two parts.

RJDJ, the augmented music generation software for iPhone, has just released their latest collaborative effort with artist Little Boots.
RJDJ is a software application that creates music based on your surroundings. It takes pre-made ’scenes’ as the basic building block, the sounds generated around you and your interactions with the mobile device to create new [...]
In 2007, Diesel presented their Spring/Summer 2008 line with their standard models, but this time added a holographic and under water theme to the presentation. The models walked the runway while graphics swam 360 degrees around them for a very stunning visual display.
