HBO created an multidimensional storytelling experience to show how HBO content and perspective can bring more to the viewing experience. The marketing product explores how we take in and interpret information given different perspectives on situations. It can be considered a sort of a immersive game for voyeurists.
The campaign consisted of two parts.
In the first part, a real life cube was placed in major cities displaying two two-minute films. This IRL display was showcased in multiple cities and had about a 3 day run for each. Cities included NY, Philly and DC.

In the second part, an online experience, was created which really brought together the multidimensional story for the end user and allowed them to explore the full story for themselves.
Users could select which part of the story they wanted to view and change the camera angle at their own leisure along with replaying the same portion of the video over and over until they felt that they got the whole story.

Users were given the ability to zoom out of the scene, surf around to find other scenes that might give them another perspective on the story.

Finally the user was presented with a view of the how much of the story they had ‘unlocked’ and given a sort of time line of how the story occurred so that if they wanted to could view the ‘full picture’.
